The Academy for Child Related Careers is a full- time, four -year high school program for students entering the 9th grade.

Students will attend classes comprised of advanced and specialized courses and full academic and co-curricular activities. Studies are concentrated in career exploration, child growth and development, and all early childhood curriculum areas.

Students will observe and work with preschoolers in our specially-equipped child care laboratory during their course of studies. The course of studies is designed in a sequential pattern which will prepare the students to enter college programs or post-secondary technical fields in the various areas of early childhood development.

Students will explore a variety of careers involving children, educational opportunities for private, public and special education, and design and advertising careers related to the childhood development.

Students will prepare to master competencies needed to obtain their Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) in accordance with the New Jersey Department of Education Preschool Teaching and Learning Expectation.

Career pathways for students include pre-school teacher, elementary education, early childhood program director, childcare and teacher assistants, social services, medical and pediatric services, counseling services, child welfare case worker, human resources director, and design and advertising careers related to child development.

Seniors, if qualified, may select the 12th grade option to attend the County College of Morris.
