Smart Board- Introduction

Blogging in Education
Course Description: Blog? What’s a blog?
A “blog” or “weblog” is a simple webpage that anyone with an Internet connection can create. A blog can be an online diary or journal, a discussion board, a way to disseminate assignments online. It can be random thoughts or a political soapbox. They are a new way to work with journals in the classroom. A fun way to get students to write! Come and find out about this fun way to reach the NetGeneration! Participate in our blog & learn how to create your own and have it hosted for free! We will investigate existing blogs for educators at all levels, and how they can be used in and around the classroom.
(Prerequisite: General understanding of how to use the computer and Windows.)

Making the Change to Microsoft Office 2007
Course Description: Are you dazed and confused by the new interface of Office 2007?
Even though most of the functions are the same, the way to do these same functions has completely and drastically changed for the 2007aplications. This takes some getting used to. Come and learn how to find all of your favorite (and not so favorite) functions in Office 2007 and come away feeling more confident about all of these changes.
(Prerequisite: Familiarity with Office 97-2003)

Course Description: Have you already taken PowerPoint but forgotten some basic steps? Come and refresh and get ready for Back to School Night or assembly presentations! Learn how to use wizards, menus and toolbars, create custom animations, slide transitions, slide backgrounds, hyperlinks, action buttons, and more. Get some classroom activity ideas and create your own project.

Course Description: Social bookmarking is a method for Internet users to share, organize, search, and manage bookmarks of web resources, by saving links to web pages.
These bookmarks are usually public, and can be saved privately, shared only with specified people or groups, shared only inside certain networks, or another combination thereof.
Come and explore the most popular social bookmarks, such as Delicious, Digg, Diigo, Furl, Google, Reddit, Stumbleupon, plus more…..

Smart Board Content Creation Camp
Course Description: You are familiar with SMARTBoard and Notebook basics, but not sure where to go next! You would like to develop activities/lessons for your students in SMART Notebook, but can’t seem to find the time! Come with your ideas and develop interactive SMART Notebook content in a supportive environment. Wow your students with engaging, well-paced activities.
