K- 4 TOM SNYDER PRODUCTIONS WORKSHOP

At:    MCST, Denville, NJ 07834

March 24, 2003  ~ Afternoon 3:30 – 6:00

Building One ~ Room 104A

Join your colleagues for an interactive demonstration of K- 4 award winning, cross-curricular software from Tom Snyder Productions, a Scholastic Company. Teachers often consider software as an extension activity that fits in at the end of a unit, time permitting. During this session, Mike Scott will demonstrate how software aligned to the New Jersey Standards can be seamlessly integrated into classroom teaching to compliment and assist teachers with their curriculum. Mike will also cover how Tom Snyder Productions software and services meet No Child Left Behind requirements. Each guest will receive a free gift pack with a complimentary copy or demo CD of titles demonstrated.

Some software selections include:

Neighborhood MapMachine: Create, navigate, and print community maps while building essential skills in the Social Studies, Math, and Language Arts curriculum.

Graph Club 2.0: Use this innovative, easy-to-use tool that enables students in grades K-4 to create, explore, interpret, and print graphs - helping them make the transition from graphing with manipulatives to graphing in the abstract.

TimeLiner: Create, illustrate, and print time lines across all curriculum areas with ease!

Science Court Explorations: Students work in cooperative groups to create hypotheses and then use hands-on materials to test their predictions.

Fizz and Martina: Students develop essential skills in problem solving and mathematical communication.
