Summary of the plan:

 (see list of samples)

The “Inventors/Invention Lesson Plan” is a project that my Grade 6 Introduction to Keyboarding class is currently involved with. The students have learned touch typing and are ready to demonstrate use of their skills. Although this is a unit plan, individual parts the plan can be utilized as separate lessons. The complete plan takes approximately 11-12 class sessions.

Students are reinforcing language arts skills during Part I when they summarize and paraphrase material from a teacher-approved Internet source into their own notes. Additional language arts skills are used when making teacher-suggested revisions to student notes. Students are employing their knowledge of working with graphics and images as part of their postcard. Critical thinking skills, including synthesis and evaluation, are necessary during this process. Students work individually in Parts I through III and then collaborate with team members during the Trivia Game.
