is the Morris County, New Jersey Technology Fellowship recipient. For the
past 5 years he has taught computers to grades 4-8 in Mendham Borough, NJ,
as well as serving as the District Computer Coordinator.For the past four years he has also enjoyed teaching graduate students at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, NJ, and at Lesley University, Cambridge, MA, where he serves as an adjunct faculty in their national program. Last year he also presented three technology sessions for teachers at Carnegie Hall, where he is a curriculum advisor in the education department.
Recent publications include authoring the 1999-2001, LINK-UP education series published by Carnegie Hall, and authoring technology lessons for Microsoft/Scholastic publications. This summer he served on the Committee to review and revise the Cross-Content Workplace Readiness state standards.
Prior to his teaching career, he worked for over 10 years developing music and technology products in the editorial departments of educational publishers McGraw-Hill, and Silver, Burdett, Ginn. He also traveled nationally to promote these technology programs.
He holds an MA and M.Ed. from Columbia University Teacher’s College, and his certifications include: Certified Technical Trainer and New Jersey Professional Development Provider.
This year Mr. Haines will be mentoring teachers throughout Morris County, as well as teaching Thursday sessions for his Fellowship project “Mentoring & Modeling: Templates for Success” at the Morris County ETTC, located in Denville, NJ. These sessions, and his resources on the web, will encourage teachers to download templates to easily integrate technology projects in their classrooms. He will also be teaching “Creating a Computer Literate Community” sessions for administrators and supervisors.
He resides with his wife and 2 children in Mendham, NJ.
