Lesson Title: Instrument Families
Subject Area: Primary General Music
Objective: Students will identify instruments and sort them into the appropriate orchestral families.
Procedure:
1. Open Kidspiration and select New Picture.
2. Type "Instrument Families" in the First Idea Symbol
3. Click on the "Super Grouper" tool & Create four Super Grouper categories. Label each category with the name of a different instrument family (woodwinds, strings, brass, percussion)
4. Go to the 3rd "School" symbol library to access the music related symbols. (Teacher can also customize a library adding additional images if desired.)
5. Students will drag items from the symbol library into the correct instrument family Grouper.
6. When finished grouping, students should click on the "Student Name" tool and type their names.
7. Save.
8. Finally, print projects.
