The Academy for Health Care Sciences is a rigorous, highly focused full-time, four -year high school program for students entering the 9th grade. Academy studies are concentrated in human sciences, health information technology, emergency care, humanities, computer technology, and health care dynamics. These structured courses prepare students for post-secondary studies in pre-medicine, nursing, or research in health care science. In collaboration with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, students may earn college credits during their course of study. College courses include Nutrition, Anatomy and Physiology I & II, Medical Math, Dynamics of Health Care, Medical Terminology and Emergency and Clinical Care. Students will explore various health care professions during their freshman and sophomore years. Students will participate in a clinical experience at a long-term treatment facility during their junior year. In their senior year, students will choose a health care career path for an internship. Seniors, if qualified, may select the 12th grade option to attend the County College of Morris.
