Academy for Veterinary Science

The Academy for Veterinary Science is a full- time, four -year high school program for students entering the 9th grade. Students in the academy focus on the physiology and behavioral components of animal science.

As part of the academy program, students maintain and care for a large, varied collection of animals. Students participate in projects in preventative small animal care, emergency care of small animals biotechnology, animal research principles, and veterinary practice management.

Students participate in long-term research during their junior year and internships in area agencies of veterinary care or veterinary research during their senior year. Seniors, if qualified, may select the 12th grade option to attend the County College of Morris.

Career pathways for students include doctor of veterinary medicine, clinical veterinary management, retail veterinary management, veterinary research, and animal husbandry.
