Student Clubs & Organizations
MCST Student Clubs & Organizations Overview:
Students are encouraged to take advantage of the clubs and activities program. MCST offers a full range of student activities both extracurricular and co-curricular. Extracurricular activities are under the direct leadership and supervision of interested members of the faculty who take pride in providing a meaningful high school experience. While the student activities program attempts to develop students interests and round out their high school experience, the program also as several specific objectives. Student organizations and activities serve to:
- Provide experiences that meet and develop the academic, physical, and social needs of the student body.
- Provide leadership opportunities for students.
- Help build a better sense of community and the need to serve in the community.
- Help develop the value of cooperation and responsibility.
- Help develop interests in activities that become lifelong pursuits.
The club and student activities of MCST are categorized by objective. The designated objected serves as the basis for club activity. The club categories are as follows:

MCST Student Clubs and Organizations
Art and Photography Club, Advisor: Mr. Ruben Rosado
In Art & Photography Club students explore, create, and share art in a variety of media. Through photography, painting, drawing (and everything between!), students have the opportunity to pursue and develop their artistic styles, while learning from peers. No experience or equipment needed—just passion!
Asian American Student Union (AASU), Advisor: Ms. Melissa Levis
Asian American Student Union (AASU) is a student led club that celebrates Asian culture and promotes inclusion at MCST. We host discussions, service projects, and collaborative events to uplift our school community. All students are welcome and membership is open to anyone committed to making positive change.

Black Student Alliance, Advisors: Ms. Mary Hammond & Ms. LaToya Evans
Black Student Alliance (BSA) is a student led club that celebrates Black culture and promotes inclusion at MCST. We host discussions, service projects, and collaborative events to uplift our school community. All students are welcome and membership is open to anyone committed to making positive change.
Chorus, Advisor: Mr. Mike LeRose
The Chorus Club offers students varied opportunities for the study and performance of choral music of many styles. The choir is very active both in school and in competition. Members enjoy unique musical and social experiences that include two performances each year with the Jazz Band and Poetry Club as well as performing the National Anthem at school events.
Class Officer/Student Government
Student government is a group of student leaders who coordinate and organize class activities and fundraisers, work for school improvement, and are the student body’s voice in the school. Some of the activities sponsored by the student government are spirit week, school dances, and various school community events.

DECA, Advisor: Ms. Laurie Sisto & Ms. Deirdre Romero
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs that integrate into classroom instruction, applying learning in the context of business, connecting to business and the community and promoting competition. Our student members leverage their DECA experience to become academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders.
Environmental Action Club, Advisor: Ms. Lauren Martin
The purpose of this club, first and foremost, is to spread awareness. Awareness is the first step to change, and change is what this Earth desperately needs, now more than ever. It is important that students become aware of the positive and negative issues involving the environment, the benefits a healthy environment provides, and the logistics of our planet’s natural functions, so that educated opinions can be formed and an appreciation and awe of nature can be developed. By providing a platform, such as an environmental club, through which students can discuss and learn about environmental issues and topics, there is a greater likelihood of these same students becoming motivated to go out and enact change in their communities.
E-Sports Club, Advisor: Mr. Ralph Scimeca
E-Sports club gathers together students who are interested in the competitive side of gaming as well as other aspects of this growing industry including marketing, broadcasting, event management and more. Our club is a member of Garden State Esports which provides our competitive structure, curriculum resources and numerous opportunities for scholarships and participation at the collegiate level. This is a new club that will spend the 2026-27 school year gathering membership, establishing systems and preparing for the opening of the MCST Esports arena.
Faith Club (S3 Students Standing Strong): Advisor: Ms. Saez & Ms. Ayala
"S3" is a Christian school club that is a place were students can socialize, learn more about their faith, and make a positive impact in our community. Meetings are held once a month for Bible study, prayer and planning service projects. It is a great way to grow spiritually and make new friends.
Family, Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)
Advisor: Ms. Samantha Shane
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for students in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education. FCCLA offers intracurricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers and communities by addressing important personal, work and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.
Future Farmers of America (FFA)
Advisor: Mr. Alessandro Pizzo
Future Farmers of America (FFA) is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Members are future farmers, chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers and premier professionals in many career fields.
Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA), Advisors: Ms. Ashley Brooks & Ms. Jennifer Katz
The Gender & Sexuality Alliance promotes tolerance and equality among students of all sexual orientations and gender identities by helping to create a school environment free of homophobic and all other types of harassment through educational efforts and awareness-building. Girls Who Code
Advisor: Ms. Stephanie Alblas
Girls Who Code highlights a supportive after-school community for girls to learn coding and build real world projects, teaching computational thinking, technical skills and fostering confidence to close the gender gap in tech by empowering them to see themselves as computer scientists and change-makers.
Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)
Advisors: Mr. Justin Jacobs & Ms. Thalia Ramirez
HOSA is a national career and technical student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE. Its mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality healthcare to all people. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition for students enrolled in HSE programs.
Hindu Heritage Club
Advisors: Ms. Subbuswamy & Ms. Ilardi
The Hindu Heritage Club aims to create a welcoming space for students to learn about and celebrate Hindu culture, traditions and festivals. Through educational events, discussions, and community activities, the club will foster understanding of Hinduism's history, values and spirituality while also offering a chance for students of Indian heritage to connect and share their experiences. All are welcome.
Hispanic Heritage Club, Advisor:
The Hispanic Heritage Club celebrates and honors the rich diversity of Hispanic and Latino cultures, traditions and histories through community events, cultural showcases and educational activities. The club provides a welcoming space for students to connect with their heritage while fostering pride and appreciation for Hispanic and Latino contributions to art, music, literature and history.
Jazz Band, Advisor: Mr. Mike LeRose
The Jazz Band is designed to introduce many different genres of jazz music and basic improvisational techniques. This performing group will meet for rehearsals, and will perform at two concerts as well as events throughout the year. The band explores a wide variety of jazz literature and is open to all students.
Jewish Student Union, Advisor:
Jewish Student Union (JSU) is a national network of over 320 clubs and 14,000 students. It is a welcoming and vibrant Jewish community where teens learn and connect with each other, explore Jewish culture and history, and discover opportunities for deeper engagement.
Key Club, Advisor: Ms. Lauren Martin
Sponsored by Kiwanis International, the Key Club is a community service organization. The club teaches leadership through serving others by being involved in both community and school-related service projects. Students will learn the importance of volunteerism to the individual, family, school, agencies and society. Activity projects are coordinated with the local Kiwanis group.
Literary Club, Advisor: Mr. Kevin Condron, Ms. Cathy Mohrle, Ms. Gina Visconti
Literary Club explores a variety of styles of literature while encouraging students to further their own writing. Students critique their original works using a peer review process. The club emphasizes spoken word poetry through participation in the Poetry Out Loud Program and a Coffee Café Poetry Slam produced in cooperation with the jazz band. Creative work is exhibited in an annual journal.
Mock Trial Club, Advisor: Mr. David Frisk
The Mock Trial Club prepares students to compete in the New Jersey Bar Association’s statewide Mock Trial Competition, representing our school against other teams from across Morris County. Members develop courtroom skills including opening and closing statements, direct and cross examination and objection strategy while gaining hands-on experience with legal reasoning, public speaking and teamwork. Students may serve as attorneys, witnesses or case strategists building confidence and critical thinking skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Multicultural Club, Advisor: Ms. Rocio Felix
The Multi-Cultural Club is a fun, safe haven for deepening the understanding of one’s own personal values and traditions while exploring and gaining understanding of the customs and traditions of others. The mission is both educational and social, with monthly meetings and activities student-designed and led.
Muslim Heritage Club
Advisor: Ms. Kayla Coradin
The Muslim Heritage Club offers a space for all students who are interested in learning about Islam and the heritage of the Muslim people. Meetings are held monthly after school in addition to events where we can share our ideas and perspectives on specific topics regarding the Muslim community. We can share traditions and build friendships between different grade levels. All are welcome.
National Honor Society, Advisor: Mr. Miguel Alfonso
The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginnings in 1921.
Morris County School of Technology’s chapter of the National Honor Society identifies students in the class of 2019 or later with a weighted cumulative GPA of 3.85% or higher. Any full-time student in his or her junior or senior year who meets the academic requirement may be invited to apply for membership. Once invited, the student must show a commitment to giving back to their community by having at least 60 hours of volunteer experience in a Not-for-Profit setting. Selection for membership is made by the club advisor and is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and community service.
Volunteering is NOT required for high school graduation at MCST. However, it is always highly encouraged and recommended to get involved in your school and local community. If you choose to volunteer, please keep an organized log of your hours. These hours may be used toward your future acceptance into the National Honor Society (NHS) and/or National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).
National Technical Honor Society, Advisor: Mr. Miguel Alfonso
The National Technical Honor Society recognizes students for outstanding scholarship in their academic and career/technical area, character, leadership, and community service. Selection to the National Technical Honor Society represents the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a student. Any full-time student in his or her junior or senior year who meets the academic requirements may be invited to apply for membership. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.5%, with a requirement of a minimum average of 90% in the area of technical concentration. Once invited, they must show a commitment to giving back to their community, having at least 60 hours of volunteer experience related to their academy in a Not-For Profit setting. Selection for membership is made by the club advisor, and based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service.

Pom Squad, Advisor: Ms. Cassie Colabella
The MCST Pom Squad combines elements of cheerleading and dance to enhance the game day atmosphere at Volleyball, Basketball and other school wide games and events. This is a fun way to make friends while also learning more about choreography and performing arts.
Robotics, Advisor:
Robotics Club brings students together who are passionate about engineering, coding and innovation to design, build and program competitive robots for regional and national tournaments. Members gain hand-on experience in mechanical design, electrical systems and software programming while developing critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork skills in a collaborative environment.
Skills USA, Advisors: Mr. Kevin Conover & Ms. Kim Delesky
Skills USA offers all students the opportunity to sharpen their career and technical skills, as well as develop leadership abilities by participating in many of the competitions sponsored by Skills USA throughout the year. MCST students have consistently demonstrated their expertise by winning state competitions. Each year, many of the medal winners participate in the national competition held in Kansas City, Missouri.
Student Ambassadors, Advisor: Ms. Samantha Shane & Ms. Cathy Mohrle
At the conclusion of sophomore year, students are invited to apply to the Student Ambassador program. MCST Student Ambassador Program is an opportunity for 11th grade students to represent their respective academies and Morris County School of Technology at Advisory Council meetings, Back to School Night, Incoming 9th Grade Reception, and other school-based activities. Student Ambassadors work closely with Academy teachers and MCST Administration to communicate positive and accurate information about MCST and our programs to a variety of audiences (large, small, business partners, parents, prospective students, etc.).
Technology Student Association (TSA) Club
Advisors: Mr. Alessandro Pizzo & Ms. Stephanie Alblas
The MCST STEM Club will afford students the opportunity to explore topics in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), interact with guest speakers, explore STEM-related career opportunities, and bring new and innovative events to the MCST community through participation in the Technology Student Association (TSA). TSA enhances personal development and leadership, whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intra-curricular activities, competitions, and related programs.
TEEEM- The Empathy, Equality & Entrepreneurship Mission Advisor: Ms. Kayla Coradin
TEEEM- The Empathy, Equality, Entrepreneurship Mission- is a local non-profit organization that teaches students about global issues and humanitarianism through empathy and entrepreneurship. TEEEM fulfills this mission by connecting New Jersey high school students with various humanitarian organizations around the world. In conjunction with learning how to comprehend and tackle global issues, these partnerships cultivate meaningful, rewarding experiences for students as they make a real impact on the world.
