The MCST Health Office is staffed by two nurses:

The office is open from 7:45AM-3:00PM when school is in session. The office has limited summer hours.
The Health Office is located in Building 4, near the Guidance Department.

General Information
Medical Notes:
All doctor's notes, including physical education and class excuses, should be submitted to the health and attendance offices.
Leaving School Due to Illness:
All students going home sick need to visit the School Nurse's Office before going home. A parent or guardian will be telephoned from the School Nurse's Office. Please make sure your contact information is current and valid in the Genesis Parent Portal, as well as information for any Emergency Contacts for your child.
When to stay home...
- When a student has a fever of 100ºF or more.
- Students should be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications before returning to school.
- When a student has vomiting/diarrhea
- Students should remain home until illness is over and 24 hours have passed since last episode of vomiting/diarrhea.
- When a student has flu-like symptoms: fever, weakness, generalized body aches, cough, chills, etc.
- When a student has suspected communicable diseases such as strep throat, pink eye, and chicken pox.
- Please provide a doctor's note indicating student is cleared to return to school.
Physical Exam
It is important to obtain medical examinations for your child at least once during each developmental stage: at early childhood (preschool through grade 3), pre-adolescence (grade 4 through 6), and adolescence (grade 7 though 12).
