The Morris County Vocational School District does not provide transportation to and from our high school programs. Local sending districts are responsible for providing transportation to our programs. MCVSD will advocate for our students and support our students in securing transportation but the main point of contact regarding transportation is your sending school district.

 

Late Bus Transportation FAQ

What is the late bus?

The late bus is courtesy transportation provided by the MCVSD to help lighten the transportation load for families of students participating in athletics and co-curricular activities or staying for extra help with their studies after school hours at the Morris County School of Technology. 

Where can I find the schedule for the late bus?

When does the late bus run?

The late bus departs from the Morris County School of Technology at 5:30 p.m. every Monday through Thursday when a full day of school is scheduled.  Emergency early dismissals and inclement weather may impact transportation. 

Does the late bus stop in every town in Morris County?

Unfortunately, no.  In order to adequately address the late bus needs of our student community in a timely manner while remaining economically prudent, it’s just not possible.  Bus stops are placed strategically throughout the county to ensure students have safe, convenient access to late bus transportation from school, helping families manage after-school schedules and ensuring all students can participate in extracurricular activities.

How are the routes and stops decided?

The district has approved its routes to reach as many locations as feasible across Morris County to benefit as much of the MCST population as practical.  Unfortunately, that could mean the late bus will get you closer to home but perhaps not close enough to be considered a walkable distance.  The number of stops is limited to ensure students are transported home in a timely manner. 

How can I have a stop added to the late bus schedule?

Routes are approved in advance and cannot be modified except in situations where safety concerns arise at a predetermined stop (for example, road construction generating a safety issue).  The length of the routes as well as the impact on other riders must be considered.
