Plumbing and Pipefitting program provides comprehensive training in essential plumbing systems, pipefitting techniques, and heating applications. Students master fundamental concepts and principles used in both residential and commercial settings, preparing them for diverse career opportunities in the plumbing industry.

Morris County high school students in 10th grade may apply for their 11th and 12th-grade year.

Mr. Dirk Homberg

Mr. Homberg has been in the trades for 42 years. He started as an apprentice in the HVAC business then was asked to expand upon an existing Plumbing business to include HVAC.

He maximized his tenure with the company by learning the Plumbing trade, taking his exam, and becoming a licensed Master plumber for the National Standard Plumbing Code in the state of N.J.

Mr. Homberg's business included new construction and light commercial plumbing and heating while specializing in high end homes and heating systems. He took on the roll of an apprentice advocate and has graduated 7 employees to the master plumbers' ranks. Passionate about his trade, Mr. Homberg is always striving  to increase his knowledge and stay on top of the new innovations within the trade.

Mr. Homberg is involved with the Essex chapter of the PHCC, Various commerce networking groups, and Trade Advisory Councils.

Students attend the following sessions for this Share Time program

Year 1 Students: Morning Session 8:00 - 10:40 am
Year 2 Students: Afternoon Session 12:10 - 2:50 pm


Students earn: 20 Career and Technical Education credits per school year

Students develop expertise through hands-on practice with industry-standard equipment and real-world applications. The program emphasizes practical skill development alongside theoretical knowledge, ensuring graduates can handle the technical demands of professional plumbing and pipefitting work.

Skills and Prerequisites for Success

Prospective students should be comfortable with basic math operations and capable of calculating precise measurements using fractions and decimals—essential skills for accurate installations and repairs. The program requires students who can follow detailed multi-step directions, work independently when needed, and collaborate effectively in team environments.
