Superintendent’s Welcome Letter – 2025–2026 School Year

Post

August 2025

Greetings Parents, Staff, & Students,

On behalf of the Morris County Vocational School District (MCVSD) Leadership Team, I am pleased to
welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year. Last year, like most, brought both challenges and successes.
Yet, through dedication, commitment, and teamwork, our district continued to move forward, serving all
members of our community. This year will undoubtedly present new challenges, but with a collaborative
approach and a growth mindset, we will ensure our students receive a well-rounded education that fosters
both academic excellence and essential life skills—preparing them for the workforce of today and
tomorrow. Staying true to our Mission Statement, our goal continues to be, to inspire and prepare
students to succeed.
To achieve measurable student success, our focus this year will be on meaningful formative assessments,
data-driven instruction, and rigorous student engagement. Guided by the 4 Rs—Rigor, Relevance,
Relationships, and Results—we will continue to lead in career and technical education, inspiring students
to develop a career-focused mindset early. Whether in our Full-Time Academies, Satellite Schools, or
Share-Time Programs, our educators play a vital role in shaping student success. To our teachers, we
share the words of renowned educator and author, Baruti K. Kafele:
“Walk into your classroom every day confident that you are the number one determinant of the success or
failure of your students... and because you are their teacher, your students are in the best possible

position to achieve success.”

We value the strong partnerships we share with our parents and families and look forward to collaborating
throughout the year to support the academic growth and personal development of every student. In my short
time here, I have witnessed firsthand the exceptional talent and dedication of our administrators, teachers,
and support staff, all of whom are committed to supporting you and your child throughout this academic
school year and beyond.
Additionally, we sincerely thank our maintenance crew for their hard work and dedication over the
summer, ensuring our facilities are ready to provide a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and
students.
The first day of school for staff is Tuesday, August 26, 2025, and we look forward to welcoming
students back on Thursday, August 28, 2025. I hope your summer has been both restful and productive,
leaving you ready for the exciting year ahead.
As we enter the 2025–2026 school year, our strength will come from our collective efficacy—our shared
belief in the power of working together to achieve exceptional results for every student. With the
dedication of our staff, the partnership of our families, and the determination of our students, we will
create an environment where success is both expected and achieved. I look forward to the milestones and
accomplishments we will celebrate together.

Educationally yours,

Anita D. Champagne, Ed. D
