MCST Students Work to Preserve World Privacy

During a 7 week period over the summer, Tejas Mehta, Frank Gomes, and Connor McDermid, 3 incoming sophomores, were brought to Montreal by a program called YoungLeaders, which seeks to allow young people to innovate and build projects that can change the world. Together, they built blinkOS, a privacy-based mobile operating system that allows at risk groups such as journalists, oppressed minorities, and whistleblowers in oppressed areas to stay anonymous while sharing information to keep the world free. Over the course of 7 weeks, they built on and improved their project, networked with potential users and pitched their project to a group of investors and reporters at Shopify offices in Montreal. After the program's completion, the team is continuing the maintenance and development of the project into the foreseeable future.
