Morris County School of Technology - Teacher of the Year

Morris County School of Technology Teacher of the Year

Academy for Design teacher, Ruben Rosado, was announced the Morris County School of Technology (MCST) Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Rosado began teaching at MCST in 2006, and since that time, he and his students have been fortunate enough to collaborate with numerous organizations and members of the Morris County community. He fosters creativity in his classroom through a student-driven teaching style and is constantly in pursuit of “real world” collaborative projects.

“Mr. Rosado is our Teacher of the Year because he knows that magical things happen when students are immersed in authentic, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences that help students prepare themselves for anything,” said Lynne Jackson, Principal at Morris County School of Technology.

Throughout his teaching career, Mr. Rosado has been an active freelance artist, developing several traditional and digital composites. His personal works consist of mural painting, printmaking, logo development, branding, video editing, photography and advertising. He has also had several gallery exhibits.

The artwork of Mr. Rosado’s students have been recognized year after year at several award shows and many of his students have pursued careers in the field of Art & Design.

The Academy for Design provides students with the foundational skills required for the various and diverse careers in the creative world; additionally, they will explore a multitude of these opportunities in more depth. The goals of the program are for students to build a well-developed portfolio of their work and to exercise creative thinking and problem solving skills.
