Academy for Education & Learning Teacher Inducted Into ASCD's Emerging Leaders    

Congratulations to Academy for Education & Learning Teacher, Samantha Shane for being named to the 2023-2024 Emerging Leaders Class by ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development). Ms. Shane was one of 18 people selected out of over 250 applicants.

cteASCD's Emerging Leaders are a select group of rising leaders in education who undergo a rigorous selection process. They are welcomed into a world class program where they can amplify their work on important education issues and find opportunities to lead from wherever they are in education.

"Morris County Vocational School District is thrilled that the Association for the Supervision of Curriculum Development (ASCD) selected our Academy for Education & Learning teacher, Samantha Shane, as a 2023 Emerging Leader. Samantha is passionate about education and devoted to developing future educators through her academy program. In the five years Samantha has been with the district, she has become a teacher leader who creates innovative professional development opportunities for all our teachers. She has spearheaded initiatives to build community involvement, modernized instructional strategies, and served as a mentor and instructional coach to new teachers. Samantha is a force for positive change in our district, and we are confident she has a bright future as an education leader," said Shari Castelli, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. 

The ASCD Emerging Leaders program contains a diverse group of educators who have been in education for 5 to 15 years and who have made an impact as leaders in their schools, districts, and communities.
