In honor of Deaf History Month, today we celebrate David Michalowsi. Born in Chicago, he was born deaf and went on to become a competitive figure skater! David became the FIRST deaf figure skater ever to compete nationally and internationally.

Today’s quote is from Susan B Anthony. Born in 1820, she was a womens rights activist who played a paramount role in the women’s suffrage movement. She was a key player in the changes she made for women during her time, and her legacy and impact continues to stand strong even today! Her quote today says:

“Forget conventionalisms; forget what the world thinks of you stepping out of your place; think your best thoughts, speak your best words, work your best works, looking to your own conscience for approval.”
