Each year, we observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, today we celebrate  Ellen Ochoa. Born in 1958, she was the first Hispanic director of the Johnson Space Center, and spent 9 days in outer space on the Space Shuttle Discovery in 1993. Her quote today says:  “Education is what allows you to stand out”.
