Meeting Minutes

September 17, 2019

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM

There were 21 parents in attendance. All Board members present

Denise Curran, MCVTS PTO President, introduced herself and had attendees introduce themselves.

Denise outlined the goals for the year and discussed the MCST Parents Facebook Page which will help increase communication.  We are looking to increase fundraising and offer mini grants of $250 to faculty.

Fall BINGO is December 6.  This is Chris Sirica’s last year and a new Chair is needed. 

Erin McDermid shared the Treasurer’s Report.

Back to School Night is on September 26, 2019.

Lisa Tubbs talked about Membership Toolkit.  There are 771 students and we currently only have 309 students enrolled in Membership Toolkit. Become a PTO member here: httsp://mcvts.membershiptoolkit.com

Encourage parents to sign up for “Keep It Simple” – KIS donation.  For the Welcome Back Teachers breakfast, over $500 in cash donations were collected!

Mara Young does a wonderful job with hospitality and teacher appreciation.  She has a junior so she will need someone to take over/shadow next year.

Scholarships – Becky Stotler advised the group that there are three MCVTS PTO Scholarships of $1,000 that will be awarded this year.  The student’s family must be a member of the MCVTS PTO for all four years of student attendance at MCVTS in order to be considered.  Applications are due in early May.  Adriane Eoga discussed the Luke Warbeck Memorial Scholarship open to an entrepreneurial scholar who is a graduating senior in 2020.

Ideas for fundraisers circulated – Murder Mystery Dinner, Vendor Night, Direct Sales, Krispy Kreme, Restaurants like Chipotle, Fashion Show, Grand Raffle, Progressive Raffle, Amazon Smile and Yankee Candle to name a few. Please email any ideas you have to Denise at imadphie@optonline.net

Next meeting is November 19 in the Denville cafeteria.
