Course Description:
Art: Drawing and Composition II is designed to foster student interest and ability in rendering and to expand experiences in two-dimensional expression. Portraiture, figure drawing, perspective, still life, tone, landscape and a variety of design approaches are investigated. Emphasis is placed on a concentrated study of drawing skills within the context of each lesson and topic area variety of media, historical references and aesthetic inferences are used to enhance knowledge and application.
Course Objectives:
Students will be able to...
- Develop drawing techniques to create realism, depth and volume in order apply the four components of critics (Describe, Analyze, Interpret, and Evaluate)
- Practice technical skills to control the illusion of special composition.
- Practice using value gradations.

Students will identify approaches to observational and conceptual drawing.

Students will enhance the appearance/message of a composition through value.

Students will become familiar with internet research, personal online galleries and basic portfolio development practices.
