Did you enjoy Computers in Art 1? This course will take your talent to the next level - as you advance your skills in design and animation!
Course Description:
In this course, students will build upon the previous course of foundational digital composite principals to explore advanced
topics in graphic design. Students will create complex, challenging design pieces and further develop and refine their individual
portfolios. Throughout the year, students will work in a variety of graphic design areas including advertising, photo restoration, layouts and digital animation.
Course Objectives:
- Students will understand the appropriate vocabulary associated with using the computer and its technology.
- Develop competency and technical skills when using drawing and digital compositing tools
- Demonstrate originality, including personal opinion, thoughts and ideas, and artistic expression in artwork
- Transform drawings using rasterize and vector software
- Experiment with color options, palette changes, gradient tones and mixing.
- Manipulate options such as stretch, rotate, bend and perspective.
- Produce an image by using more than one program.
- Be aware of different saving formats (GIFF, JPEG, PSD etc.)
- Develop competency utilizing video input to incorporate video images into student artwork.
- Demonstrate knowledge of how artists and artistic works can potentially connect with either political, social, cultural, and historical events.
- Explore a variety of graphic software and how to incorporate images from other sources.
- Analyze and evaluate how various artists and cultural resources influence student work.
- Create a piece in conjunction with another peer.
- Create a computer-generated piece that acknowledges another form of media
